Saturdays:

(Applewood community Centre – Down stairs in the sports Hall)

Saturday afternoons in Swords are broken down into a number of different classes.

Our first hour is mainly for beginners of all levels. We have broken down the first hour into many different groups to cater for all levels from children who have never danced before right up to beginners who are starting to move to the next level. We have a number of teachers at class on Saturdays and so each group has a dedicated trainer to work with them to get the best from each group.
Our Second hour is for Ceili (Or Figure dancing) this is a class where children get to work as a team. Dancers in this class learn to dance with a number of other people from dancing in pairs to dancing in groups of 16. This is also a class where when we’re not competing we teach children some show dancing and routines for our many performances throughout the year. This class is great for dancers who prefer to be part of a team.

Our Third and fourth hour are for dancers who are advanced to championship level and in this class we work on performance for competition. How to use the stage and how to present your dances and technique to any adjudicator. We also work on fitness in this class to ensure our dancers are ready for the dance season. Light and heavy shoes are worked on in this class.
